Frequently Asked Questions
What if I'm too anxious or shy to participate in group therapy?
This is one of the most common concerns, and it’s completely understandable. You control your level of participation – many members start by just listening and gradually become more comfortable sharing. Our groups are specifically organized by focus areas, so you’ll be with people who understand exactly what you’re going through. Plus, you can adjust your camera and audio settings to whatever feels safe for you.
How do you match people into groups, and what if I don't fit in?
We organize groups by focus areas like anxiety, depression, relationships, or life transitions, so you’re automatically with people facing similar challenges. You can browse available groups by topic, schedule, and therapist specialty to find the right fit. If a group isn’t working for you, we can help you find a different one that feels more comfortable.
Can I do both group therapy and individual therapy?
Absolutely! Many people find this combination incredibly powerful. All individual therapy clients get free access to group therapy, and many group members eventually add individual sessions when they’re ready for more focused attention on specific issues. You can start with groups and add individual therapy later, or do both simultaneously – whatever works best for your healing journey.
When would I choose individual therapy over group therapy?
Individual therapy is ideal when you need focused attention on specific trauma, family patterns, or personal issues that require privacy. Group therapy excels for reducing isolation, learning from others’ experiences, and practicing new skills in a supportive environment. Many people start with groups for community support, then add individual sessions for deeper personal work.
What happens during a typical group session?
Sessions are 60-90 minutes with a licensed therapist facilitating. You’ll typically do a brief check-in, work through therapeutic exercises or discussions related to your group’s focus area, share insights or challenges, and practice new coping skills together. Between sessions, you’ll have access to journaling tools, your AI companion, and progress tracking to keep your growth going.
What if I'm not ready to share personal things with strangers?
You never have to share anything you’re not comfortable with. Many group members spend their first few sessions mostly listening, and that’s perfectly fine. The goal isn’t to spill your deepest secrets – it’s to connect with others who understand your struggles and learn from their experiences. You’ll be surprised how much you can benefit just from hearing others talk about challenges similar to yours.
